
TERMS OF SERVICE
By purchasing from Canuck Exotics, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following binding terms and conditions.
HOLDS & PURCHASING
Deposit Requirements:
Orders over $250: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to hold.
Orders under $250: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold.
Availability: No animal is held without a confirmed deposit. I do not provide updates on other interested parties; it is the buyer's responsibility to secure the animal promptly to avoid missing out.
All Sales Final: There are no refunds. If you change your mind or are unable to receive the animal, all amounts paid—including the deposit—are forfeited.
Deadlines: The remaining balance is due strictly 7 days from the deposit date. Failure to pay by the deadline results in the forfeiture of the animal and all funds paid.
Late Fees: If I choose to continue past a missed deadline, a late fee will be applied to the balance.
SHIPPING
Quotes: Please use postal code N3H 4R7 (Fedex Hub) for a quote. Shipping is an extra cost at the buyer's expense and must be paid in full before booking.
Carriers: I ship via Reptile Express or Reptile Runner. Alternative companies may be used upon request.
Recommendations: Hub pickups are highly recommended to ensure the animal is received faster and kept in a climate-controlled environment.
Schedule: Shipping occurs Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, or on designated export days.
Delivery Delays: While every effort is made to ensure the safe arrival of all animals, I am not liable for injury, illness, delays, or loss resulting from carrier-related issues for delays or transit interruptions outside of my control. However, I will always do everything reasonably possible to assist customers in resolving shipping-related issues should they arise.
Customers are responsible for monitoring tracking information, being available to receive deliveries, and contacting the shipping carrier directly regarding delays or delivery-related concerns once the package is in transit.
Guarantees:
Domestic: Arrive Alive Guaranteed (see Health Guarantees for requirements).
International: No "Arrive Alive" or health guarantees are offered due to third-party handling and transit times. Canuck Exotics claims no fault for injuries or losses once the animal is with the carrier.
Temperature Safety: Shipping occurs only between 1°C and 25°C (41°F - 77°F). Requesting shipment outside these ranges voids all guarantees and store credits.
Care Fees: Animals must ship/picked up within 7 days of final payment. Starting Day 8, a $10.00 daily care fee per animal will be applied. This fee must be paid before the animal ships/picked up. If care fees exceed the value of the animal, the animal will be relisted with no refund.
PICKUP & DELIVERY
Location: Cambridge/Kitchener, ON.
Fees: Delivery fees apply for locations outside Kitchener/Cambridge. The fee is generally the cost of shipping minus the shipping kit.
Grace Zone: No delivery fee applies if I am already traveling within 15 minutes of your location (per GPS).
HEALTH GUARANTEE (DOMESTIC ONLY)
Coverage: 7-day health guarantee for domestic shipments.
Validation: To qualify, the buyer must provide photos/videos of the animal, its enclosure, and detailed care logs (diet, misting, temps) within 1 hour of the carrier's "delivered" or "ready for pickup" timestamp.
Voidance: The guarantee is void if there is evidence of neglect, improper husbandry, or cohabitation of any kind.
Resolution: Honored claims result in store credit only, which can be applied at any time.
GENERAL POLICIES
Tail Loss: Tail loss is out of my control and does not decrease the value of the animal. No discounts or refunds will be provided for tail loss.
Sexing: Animals are listed as "Unsexed," "Possible Male/Female (VP/NVP)," or as "Male" or "Female", which carry a sexing guarantee.
Right of Refusal:
Canuck Exotics is a private hobby of mine, not a retail service; I prioritize the well-being of my animals and my personal peace over any sale. I reserve the right to terminate any transaction at my sole discretion if a buyer is showing unprofessionalism, including but not limited to: administrative burden (missed deadlines), manipulative "guilt-tripping," or any form of entitlement and disrespect. In the event of a conduct-based termination, all funds paid to date are strictly non-refundable and shall be forfeited as liquidated damages for lost time and opportunity. If you are unable to maintain a professional level of integrity, follow through and respect, do not initiate a purchase.
